File Encryptor Box ("the App") is designed around a simple principle: your files and your password never leave your device. This policy explains exactly what that means.

What stays on your device

• Every file you add to your vault, in its encrypted form
• Your master password — it is never transmitted or stored anywhere, not even by the App itself. Only a one-way cryptographic verification value is kept locally to confirm you entered the correct password
• Basic file details (name, size, date added) used to show your vault list

What we do not collect

• We do not require an account, email address, or sign-in of any kind
• We do not upload your files or any file contents to any server
• We do not collect analytics, usage tracking, or telemetry about how you use the App
• We have no access to your vault, your files, or your master password — there is no server component that could receive them

Local storage

All vault data is stored locally on your computer, in a location managed by the App. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete this data; you may remove it manually if you wish.

Forgotten passwords

Because your master password is never stored, it cannot be recovered by us or anyone else. If you forget it, the only option is to reset your vault, which permanently deletes the encrypted files it contains. This is a deliberate security design, not a limitation we can remove.

Third parties

The App does not share data with third parties because it does not transmit your data anywhere in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
